1.) Power Thought - Perfect Future Sucks!

OK, now that I have your attention, I just want to pass this question and thought on to you. How often have you put off starting some project, plan or even business, because you were waiting for something or everything to be PERFECT? Probably a lot. Me too.

I heard a great quote recently: An imperfect plan started TODAY is far superior to a perfect plan started TOMORROW.

So get out there and get started!

2.) Recommended Resource - Rich Dad, Poor Dad

Robert Kiyosaki has written 4 books in the Rich Dad series and you should get them all. Start with this one and then go to the Kiyosaki page in the Library on the www.notimelost.com website to get the rest.

Robert teaches you the difference between and asset and a liability, what the rich teach their kids that the poor do not and how to start thinking like a rich person. This is an excellent book to get help you get your head out of the 9-5 J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) mindset and ready to take on financial and business opportunities that come your way.

Question: What is your biggest asset?

Answer (sort of): It's NOT your house!

Rich Dad Poor Dad

3.) Featured WebSite - Financial Peace

Dave Ramsey has become one of the best known people in the US with his daily radio show, Financial Peace University and Financial Peace Seminars. He preaches debt freedom and teaches you how to get there. Buy his books, listen to his show, go to the seminar and sign up for FPU. Being debt free IS possible, if you are willing and can see the possibilities. Dave will tell it to you straight and not pull any punches.

4.) Main Article - Getting Ready for Opportunity

In the last OK-EZine, I challenged you to do 3 things. Turn off the TV for a minimum of 2 whole days, drive home from work a different way and get up a half hour earlier than normal. This was designed to get you out of your normal routine and open your eyes to the world.

How did it work? Anyone try it? It was pretty hard to maintain that wasn't it. I admit it. I didn't do it 100% either. But it is the effort and the breaking of your old patterns that is important. If you commit, I will commit to doing it again this week.

In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to get ready for Opportunity. We looked at what opportunity is and where you can find it. But are you ready for it? For most, that answer is no. For most of that most the reason is going to be your old, limiting beliefs and habits. For instance, if you BELIEVE that you are always going to be a wage slave, you are 100% RIGHT. If you BELIEVE that you are going to find a way to create the life you dream about, you may just be right.

Whoa, whoa, WHOA! Hold it there. Whaddaya mean "may just be right."?!

Did you catch that? You are guaranteed failure if you believe it, but are not guaranteed success if you believe that.

Why?

Because belief is NOT ENOUGH.

Now that probably smacked a few of you upside the head, but it is true. For the longest time, I thought belief was enough. It's about 80-90%, but that last 10-20% is what gets you over the hump and into the land of success.

That last part is taking action. Simple actions. Get yourself used to doing things differently than we have in the past. Insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. That is where I used to live. I kept doing the same things, with belief, and got the same results.

What I found was that you need to stretch yourself to be able to take advantage of ANYTHING. That is why I suggested those three actions. Turning off the TV forces you to find something else to do. It keeps the "Electronic Income Reducing Device" from controlling your results. If you read, you engage the mind. The neurons fire more. This is a good thing. Driving home a different way does the same thing. You have to THINK to get home. You notice things around your. That alone is the best habit to get into by the way. Notice things around you. Finally, getting up a half hour earlier ever day also forces you to find something to do with that time. If you are chronically late, it may just mean that you get to work on time without stress. What would that mean to your life if you started every work day without that stress?

Take some new actions. Do something different. This gets you more ready for Opportunity than you can ever imagine (until it starts happening). When the old noggin starts working again and you believe in your success, things start happening. A promotion. A new job. Better relationships. A business opportunity. Going back to school. The possibilities are endless. You just cannot see them because you are mired in your old habits and beliefs.

Tim Johnson
