1.) Power Thought - Treat Your Business Like a Business

Frac and I (I being Fric) just finished up a short, 30 minute tape this morning called 'Treat Your Business LIKE a Business'. It is intended for the MLM audience, but you know something? It is really for ANYONE who is looking into any kind of business. Most especially the home-based kind. Here is a brief overview.

We cover 5 main topics on this tape:

1. Set Expectations - Know that you ARE going to get some kind of results. The question is, will they be the results you expect or the results you don't expect? Many people go into business for themselves with a lottery mentality.

They think all they have to do is open up, wait and the money will start flowing in. Doesn't work that way. At first you only get out less than you put in, but eventually you get more. Don't over-expect.

2. Set Business Hours - Just as McDonalds posts their regular business hours and keeps them, so should you. Set aside specific time for specific business building activities such as calling leads, posting ads/messages on the internet (no spamming, please), or whatever. Also set aside specific time each day for personal development. The rest of the day you should be aware of the people around you and be ready to create conversations with them that may lead to your business.

3. Goals and Vision - You have to know where you are going and how to get there if you truly desire success in life. We cover a quick overview of how to create a vision and set goals to get you there.

4. Budgets - You should have at least 2 budgets each month. A marketing budget and a self-development budget. The marketing budget pays for leads, samples, postcards, and anything that lets you communicate directly with your prospects or to gather prospects.

The Self-Development budget is for getting the books, tapes and other programs that help you grow and become the person who can create all this success you are shooting for.

5. Self-Development - We list a good set of books and tapes for the beginner or anyone really who is looking to start, re-ignite or refocus their business. All of that list is on the Success Maniacs website in the library and the recommended websites page.

By no means do we cover 100% of what it takes to be successful in your own business. 2.) Recommended - The Art of Exceptional Living by Jim Rohn

Jim Rohn is one of the Grand Masters in the art of motivation and personal development. I had a 2 tape version of his Art of Exceptional Living set for a couple of years now. My wife, 'Mrs. Fric', had listened to it one day and that was the day she REALLY got into listening to self-development tapes.

This 6 tape set is a great way to learn about how to do self-development. Mr. Rohn covers just about everything from how you should think (your philosophy) to things like the personal library you should develop including your own journals.

4.) Main Article - Why You Should Be Making More Mooh-Lah!

Whatever, you call it (mooh-lah, coin, smackers, cash-ol-a, or denaro) would you like to make more of it?

Dumb question.

However, a ton of networkers in reality act like they do not. Yea, yea, I know you have heard that all before.

But I’m right. The typical networker goes to their friends and family, (and gets a beating) and in 90 days, they are mostly out of the business. After a quick 90 days, they forget about the “why” they came into this business.

Why is this?

Okay let’s break it down.

People allow their fears to come into play. Their family and friends do not want them to leave the pack. They have also seen them with the lamp shade on their head at a party 10 years earlier. Therefore, they are saving you. Since they know you can’t do that and you will end up getting hurt!

Now that we have been exposed to criticism and realize that we are not perfect, and we cannot build this business in a quick six months. We can either believe in our self or we can follow sheep.

Since you are reading this I’m assuming you believe in yourself. After all Jesus has been quoted in the bible as saying, “do not fear” a whopping 365 times. Ironically there are 365 days in a year. Ever wonder why you have that burning desire to move forward “inner voice”. In Genesis 1:11 it says, “become what we want and it will reproduce”.

How about Mark 23 & 24 (therefore I say unto you, what things so-ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them).

How about Proverbs 4:23 (above all else, keep watch over your heart, for herein lie the wellsprings of life).

For all the believers I salute you! It’s not easy and it takes courage to break through the brick wall at times.

Now for that pay raise!

Besides a burning desire here are the two areas that you require in your system:

Prospecting & Recruiting

If you have one without the other you have slow poke alley. Both have to be a system so anyone can do it. People can duplicate systems, however, they can’t duplicate personalities.

Three mlm trainers that I personally believe that are awesome are Jeffrey Combs, Doug Firebaugh, and Joe Schroeder. My system for prospecting and recruiting was built around these three individuals. That’s why it is so important to stay in the game (mlm). You never know when someone will come into your life and help sculpt your future. Just as these three men have done mine.

If you are struggling in mlm or a beginner I would recommend becoming a student of the game. Besides your particular mlm training program I would supplement your training with these top three trainers.
