Publisher's Note 1.) Publisher's Note Greetings SuccessManiacs! First, Fric, Frac and the Fiery One with to express our deepest sympathies and best wishes to the families of those who died in the terrorist attacks exactly 6 months ago. We also wish to commend the entire country for the outstanding way we have rallied and pulled together. And to our armed forces in Afghanistan, Yemen, the Phillipines and anywhere else they are in harm's way, we thank you for the job you do. Without you, we could not be safe as a people. For us our thanks can never be strong enough to convey the heart felt gratitude and admiration we have for you. ~ Tim, Tom and Doug ~ Great to see that people are visiting the website and ordering product as well! That's always a nice thing to see. :) Things are really hopping as usual. We are working on making the website more complete with articles and links, etc. etc. As a matter of fact, we have posted a training on working cold market leads in the training section. Check it out! And we finally got the store links setup so you can buy your very own SuccessManiacs hats and shirts! Check it out at the Fric and Frac Products link on the left of the main page. 2.) Power Thought Reasonable people are unsuccessful people... Sad, but true. Geez, Fric! How can you say such a thing? Reasonable people are part of what makes society work! Well.... sort of. Reasonable people are ones who go with the flow... Don't make waves... Accept what comes... Do as they are told... Be what others want them to be... Is that the kind of person you desire to be? More importantly, is that the kind of person that achieves any kind of success? By success I mean the type that changes lives... that changes your destiny and the destiny of those around you. The kind that will make others think that you have been blessed. Unreasonable people do this. Not reasonable people. An unreasonable person changes the flow... makes waves... creates what comes... does what they believe to be right... becomes the best that they can be... Unreasonable in the context of creating change and success in life basically means that you are not a sheep. You seek out the different way. It may be more difficult and fraught with risks, but that is because the rewards are so much greater. The first step in becoming unreasonable is to shed the belief in 'Conventional Wisdom'. It is neither conventional (meaning common in this case) nor is it wise. To achieve great things, you must have faith that great things are possible. Conventional Wisdom says that since statistics show that almost no one will succeed, no one should try. Well... that's a load of BOVINE WASTE MATERIAL! You may attempt things and fail... You may shoot for the moon and not reach it... You may not even come anywhere near the goal line... But what if along the way, you have some fun? Live life to the fullest? Create some meaningful friendships and partnerships along the way? Isn't that the real point of the process? The journey? What you become on the way to your destination is more important than the destination itself. That is what an unreasonable person realizes. That person also realizes that having an unreasonable destination is just about the only way to have that special journey. Reasonable people have reasonable destinations and reasonable journeys. I desire for my destination and journey to be as UNREASONABLE as possible. How about you? Blessings... 3.) Recommended Resource Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill This is the very first recommended book from the very first ezine over a year ago... I am recommending it again, because I think it is a book that should be read on a yearly basis. It is the primer for self-development. It is all about teaching you that the way you think, what you say and what you believe is what makes you successful. I cannot recommend this book more than enough. If you have never read it, get it now! If you have read it, you really must re-read it ASAP! Think and Grow Rich was the very first self-help book I ever read and
it is by far the one most responsible for my journey on the road to
success. Click Here. Or you can get it in most any bookstore! Fric.
4.) Article What do you look for from an MLM opportunity? More importantly, what do you look to CONTRIBUTE to an MLM opportunity? Whoa!!!!!!!! Radical Concept Alert!!!!!!! What do I look to CONTRIBUTE???? Man, Fric, you are really over the top today! OK. Fair enough. Maybe I am over the top, but that's all part of being a Maniac! :) Seriously, I ask this because I believe that you cannot be successful just by being a distributor for a company... taking the benefits of your pay plan and your products. Oh, sure. You can make money and probably even enough to make a difference in your life. But I question whether you can go farther before giving something back... I honestly believe that the most successful people in this industry CONTRIBUTED more to their business than they got out of it. Contributions are not just dollars. They are time, effort and beliefs. It can be in the form of encouraging others, training, mentoring, support work, or a thousand other things. It may be in the form of running the sign-in table at the weekly meetings, arranging the room for those meetings, distributing the group newsletter, working with new people to get them started right, or many other things. In other words, contributions are actions that enhance the lives and businesses of everyone around you. Whoa! Another Radical Concept Alert!!!! 'Why should I work to enhance the lives and businesses of people around me?' you ask... Have you ever heard Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn and dozens of others say this: 'You can get more of what you desire in life by helping others get what they desire.' What goes around comes around. I am about to get really philosophical here. If you aren’t into that, just skip to the end of this article where you can pick up with the non-egghead stuff... :) Network Marketing, and life in general I believe, is about a few basic concepts... 1. Relationships - We are creatures of habit. We have always created communities wherever we have gone. We seek out new people to have friendships with. That is one of the core principles and requirements of MLM and life. Relationships are how we interact with the world. Therefore, how we contribute. 2. Contribution - We desire to make a difference in the world. That is one reason we have children, so that our legacy and name will carry on. We also join churches and synagogues because we desire to feel connected to others in a way that has meaning. Generally, when there we seek to contribute time and money to promote our beliefs. We look for ways to help one another in all aspects of life. Look at the charitable giving we do. Look at the amount of effort put forth on behalf of the victims of the terrorist attacks 6 months ago. Contribution helps us not feel helpless in times of trial. Contributions almost always are in a way to better our relationships as well. Either with family, strangers, society or with God. 3. Change and Growth - Everything changes. No matter the clichés we here about it (the more things change, the more they stay the same), life is about change. We change our attitudes, beliefs, jobs, homes, schools, activities, etc. etc. All in order to make life better. Sometimes the changes work, sometimes not. But the point is that we are continually striving to be better, do better and have better. And not just in materialistic ways. We strive to be better parents, spouses and siblings (relationships). We strive to be better at our jobs, how we practice our religion and how we play the game of life (contributions). Those who welcome change and growth, generally excel in life. Hmmnn... Very interesting little progression, don't you think? The better we relate, the better we contribute, the better we change and grow. And as Doug Firebaugh (The Fiery One) will tell you, MLM is about touching and changing people's lives. If that is so, then to achieve the most we can in life, we must excel at all three things. It starts with relationships. Now to come full circle here, I ask again what you can contribute to your MLM company? Is it time? Effort? Donations to the group fund that pays for events, awards, etc.? Is it just showing up and offering your opinion? Let me tell you right now... THAT is one of the most important things you can do! I have found that some of the best ideas come from those that are new or struggling. They don't 'have all the answers' regarding how to do the business, so they don't know already 'what won't work.' Think on this as you progress in your business... As you get more comfortable in the business and what you can do, you will desire to do more. Seek out ways to do more that help others and your business and your life will change for the better in ways you can only imagine! Thanks and have an awesome day! Tim 'Fric' Johnson 5.)
