Publisher's Note 1.) Publisher's Note Spring is here finally... I really love this time of year as things warm up, brighten up and liven up! It's a time of renewal and energy. I look forward to the coming months and the activities it will bring. Tonight (Thursday the 21st) Fric and Frac will be guest- hosting TeleFire for Doug Firebaugh. You cannot motivate anyone else. It is flat out impossible to do so. Motivation means a reason to act; something that moves one to action. Only you can decide what you will act upon. Only you can decide what is important enough to act upon. The only thing that I, or anyone else, can do is to spark an interest in you... create some pressure that forces you to re-evaluate priorities or get you to look at yourself or your situation in a new light. But in the end, only YOU can decide to act. But, Fric, what about this absurd and unrealistic situation to blow your theory? 'A really bad guy is holding a gun to my child's head. I have to do what he says or my child dies!' Well, I still say that the 'really bad guy' cannot motivate you. Your love (or lack of it) for your child vs. what the 'really bad guy' asks is what moves you to action. What if you are told to shoot your other child? Did the 'really bad guy' motivate you then? OK... Of course these are absurd. That is my point. In that situation or any other situation, you evaluate the situation and choose what is most important to you. Then you act. Sometimes you act by NOT acting. You procrastinate. You get in a state of drift where you don't know what to do. Sometimes you choose immediate pleasure because it's better than the alternative... even when the alternative leads to greater pleasure in the future. So, when you feel depressed or un-motivated, you really are motivated... You have reasons to act (or not to act). They just may not be apparent. The things that you wish you were doing or could do are within your grasp. You just don't have strong enough motive to do so. So, ask yourself why you are currently doing what you are doing. Is it to avoid immediate pain at the expense of future pleasure? Is it to build a positive future or to avoid a negative present? These questions could be the most important you ever ask. time. The number is 620-294-3000, pin 1321#. 4.) Article by Frac “You’re a Maniac” What exactly is a maniac? Webster says it’s, “a raving or violently insane person; madman; lunatic; as in raving with madness”. The typical MLMer can identify with the verb, because, some of us have been called one before. As with every raving mad person we’ve never actually looked up the definition in the dictionary. However, have we ever thought that with our lacking results in recruiting and product sales, and our will to continue, we might just be one? After all, who else would continue with so much heart for the profession, and we are only making $4.13 a month. If a lack of results and a love for networking means you’re a maniac sign me up. What are my other options? Quit, work as an employee and lock in a mediocre life. No, that’s a real life maniac (no more dreaming and accepting life as being hard and realistic). You have read Webster’s definition, now read Frac’s definition of a Maniac: Motivation The “M” stands for motivation. Get in fifth gear and get motivated. Nothing will get you going quicker than motivation. One way I get motivated is listening to motivating tapes in the car everyday (automobile university). The “A” stands for action. Action equals results. We have to turn off the TV and get off the couch. Nothing will happen if we do nothing but watch survivor. We will not even survive. The “N” stands for nerve. You have to strike a nerve deep down that you will never quit and you will have unconditional success. Unconditional success simply means, you will not put conditions on your success. Conditional success for example is, “If I do not have three reps by June 1st, I will never be able to do this business.” Unconditional success is, “I’m going to make it no matter what I have to tackle to make it happen.” The “I” stands for imitate. Find someone in your upline, sideline, or a coach that you can model (imitate) and replicate their success. The “A” stands for achieve. Keep your vision set on your goals. Once you achieve a goal make a new one. Once you set a goal make sure you cut it in half. It’s always a great feeling to achieve a goal. Likewise, it’s frustrating if you can’t achieve a goal. So make sure to cut them in half, and once you achieve it, make another. The “C” stands for clarify. Be clear on what you want. Then set your laser focus on your intended results. Do not allow negativity to enter your brain. If you get an undesired result (which you will), just learn from it, and clarify what went wrong and fix it. So the next time out you are quicker, faster, sharper, and tougher. That is my definition of a maniac. And yes your lack of results ended last night. Today is a brand new day. If I have to be a maniac to live an abundant life that’s acceptable, and worth every hard working hour I put into it. I think it’s crazy that everyone in MLM isn’t successful!
