Publisher's Note 1.) Publisher's Note - Is it Still March? Hmmmnn. Interesting question isn't it? What the heck does Fric mean by that? Simple... The last time we found time to put together a SuccessMania! EZine, it was in March! Surely we wouldn't take 6 weeks to do another one would we? Us? Naaaaaaah! :) Seriously, it's been an incredibly busy Spring for me and Frac. We both have been swamped with projects and family and church. Now the summer is soon to be upon us... Well if you live in the warmer climes, it may already seem like summer! For us in Louisville, KY the summer weather is just around the corner! This summer Fric and Frac will be releasing some new products too. First up will be Prospecting on a Budget. This will be a 2 or 3 tape set that goes over a few dozen ways to find, contact and interview prospects... all without busting your budget! We should also have a few autoresponder courses available this summer and maybe an eBook or two. Keep an eye on the website and here for more information! 2.) Power Thought - Prioritizing Your Vision Been listening to Jack Zufelt's The Conquering Force Within series lately.... Really good stuff. I highly recommend it. One of the main points Jack makes is that you only do what is a Core Desire and then only when it is at 90-100 on a scale of 0-100. The Core Desires that Jack talks about can also be called Values and the goals that stem from them. No goal that is not tied to your values and expressed in some way in your vision will ever really be achieved in a significant way. Values drive us create that ultimate (until we get there and do another) vision of our lives. That vision drives us to set and achieve goals that get us there. Your Vision is expressed as your Core Desires given form and acted upon. Let's say you have always wanted to become a black belt in Tae Kwan Do. It takes a while and a lot of work. My 7 year old daughter has set this as a goal for herself. She absolutely loves it. I can see that she is excited about it and that she looks forward to it. This is a 100 on that scale. Her vision includes her being a black belt. Her goals to get her there are to move up each belt. (She tests next week to move from Yellow to Orange) If this is not a 100... instead perhaps a 70... will you find the time each week to go to class and practice? Maybe some weeks. Maybe even several weeks in a row. But eventually the novelty wears off and you stop. Why? Because it wasn't important enough! It was a goal and part of your vision, but it WAS NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ACT ON IT CONSISTENTLY! Did you get that? Just as we teach you to prioritize your tasks, and goals in life, you must also prioritize your values and your vision. You must ask yourself, and be TOTALLY HONEST, where each thing ranks on that scale. If it isn't at least a 90, DO NOT INCLUDE IT IN YOUR VISION! Over the next few weeks, we will begin taking you through the Fric and Frac method of goal getting and vision creating. Article by Frac - Tomorrow Today's to do list: gas up car, oil change, pick up Courtney from basketball practice, post office to buy stamps, work on job home work, spend two hours on cold calls for MLM business. What got finished from today's to do list: gas up car, oil change, picked up Courtney, post office, j.o.b. home work. What got pushed off: MLM business! Has this happened to you? Does this happen a lot? Does it always seem like your MLM business is the first thing to suffer from the time bomb? Do you always conclude I'll start my MLM business tomorrow? Why is tomorrow the day that never comes? Yet for most people that's the only place and time their accomplishments and aspirations ever exist (Richard Brooke)! I have three theories why tomorrow never comes for our MLM business: 1. Fear of failure and fear of rejection. What does F.E.A.R stand for? False Expectations Appearing Real. Most of the time we always perceive things worse than reality. You will always miss 100% of the shots you do not take! If you have nothing and someone doesn't come in your business after you talk with them, you still have nothing. In this case what did you lose? Nothing! If they decide to come in you gained something. The choice is yours. Most people have to be sick and tired of being sick and tired before they will act. Rejection is a part of life. All the fruit of a tree is on the branches. You have to get away from the trunk (comfort zone), to eat the fruit of life. You have to risk rejection and climb out on a branch to eat the fruit. A great resource on intimidation (fear) is: Breaking Intimidation by John Bevere. 2. The second reason is the employee mentality. As an employee we work four hours for four hours of pay. MLM is a business for entrepreneurs and we do not get paid for our time. We get paid for results only. If what you are doing isn't working change it. A great resource on the employee and entrepreneur break down is: The Business School by Robert Kiyosaki. 3. The third reason and probably the biggest theory is the Whopper and Fries theory. As Americans we always want something fast: fast food, microwave dinners, and ten minute oil changes to name a few. One of Big Al's lines is: if we are what we eat, I must be either fast, cheap or easy. Rome wasn't built in a day. The bible says, "wealth gained quickly is not blessed". My advice is to never quit. If you quit you lock in a life of mediocrity. Which there is nothing wrong with that (if you are comfortable with that). The people that do not want to quit, and want to get past the struggling days. Invest in yourself and work harder on yourself than anything else. This of course is personal development. A great resource is: The Psychology of Recruiting by Doug Firebaugh and Ben Johnson.
