benefit from it! CONTENTS: Woooo Hooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, are we excited here! This is the very first SuccessMania! ezine to be published in HTML format! Way cool! In case you haven't been to the website lately, take another look around. We have added a couple of new trainings to the Training section and we have changed the look of the site ever so subtly. More changes are on the way. Last time, I mentioned that we were going to do some more tapes and ebooks this summer and fall... and we are! The eBook, The Eleven Principles of Success by yours truly, will be available probably in early September. Same goes for the Prospecting on a Budget tapeset. Soon we will also be offering a few eCourses by Doug Firebaugh on Internet Recruiting and a few other topics. Things are going to ROCK the rest of this year! Fric 2.) Power Thought - What Is Holding You Back? I answered this question recently... Whooooaaaa-Baaaaaaaby!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't like getting at the heart of the matter... If you like to live in a state of Denial (and NO, it's not a river in Egypt!), then by all means, skip to the next section! It's OK... We'll wait. ... ...... ......... OK. Now that the squeamish are gone, let me say this: Discovering what is holding you back is eye-opening and a little scary. Why? Because it takes away all your excuses. And human beings are soooooo fond of their excuses! If we don't have one, we'll make one up! Doesn't even have to make sense! The key to knowing what is holding you back is asking one simple question... What am I waiting for in order to start being successful? What? Fric, have you lost your mind?! Maybe, but what does that have to do with the question? :) Seriously, look at your life and at the things you would like to accomplish... Take out a sheet of paper and divide it into 3 columns. In the first column, put down these things you would like to accomplish, do, have, etc. etc. In the second column, put down where you currently are in these pursuits. In the third column, put down the one thing you are waiting on to get started or to continue down that road. Look at that third column very carefully... How many of those things are real? In other words, how many do you really have to wait on? How many are things you made up? Things like more free time? More money? Someone to watch the kids? Better education? Better upline or a mentor? I say to you that none of those kinds of things are real! They are ALL IN YOUR HEAD! You could start down the path right now. Those are convenient excuses. We all use them. Sometimes we take on too much work or too many projects in order to have these excuses. We build them up into monsters that we have to kill in our minds. We let these things trick us. We control two things in life. Our thoughts and what we do about them. Stop thinking about the excuses. Start doing something to move past them. Each day. Every week. The entire month. All year. Think and Grow Rich could have been Think and Do Rich. Think better thoughts and fewer excuses and do the things to move along your Success path. So, I ask a final time... What is holding YOU back? Success means something different to everyone. Some define it in terms of money... Others in possessions... Still others in raw power... Others by their influence... How much money do you require to be successful? How much "stuff" do you require to be successful? How much power and control do you require to be successful? How many people do you need to influence in order to be successful? In what ratio? More emphasis on money and less on power? Maybe more influence and less stuff? Maybe all stuff and money... who cares about the power and influence when cash is King! This is how I define Success:
After I came up with this, I noticed it lacked something that we traditionally associate with achieving success... Absolute, definable and concrete results! You know, the things we are all taught to shoot for when we write down our goals! WHOA! But Fric! Aren't our goals and whether or not we hit them one way of measuring our success? Well, that's what we are taught, isn't it? And don't get me wrong... I LOVE goals! Can't really achieve my success without them. Nor can you. But your goals do not and never have defined your success. All they do is tell you where you are, how much money you have, what kind of house you live in, what kind of car you drive, how big your downline is or how much stuff you have. None of that defines your success. If it did, Success would be the same for everyone. Now, that's a sobering thought, isn't it? Your Success is entirely up to you! You define it. You work toward it. You decide when you are there. Success can mean money, fame, power and stuff... If you decide it. It can also mean peace, contentment, a spiritual life or a life dedicated solely to others. You probably fall somewhere in the middle. Success is a feeling... a state of mind. That state is determined by the standards you set for yourself and whether you meet them. Do you have high standards and expectations? If so, it will take more to not be a failure. If you have low standards and expectations, you probably don't care if you are successful or not! Do this... 1. What are your personal standards (values) and expectations of yourself? 2. What do you do each day to meet these? 3. Are your goals in line with these? 4. What thing you do makes you the happiest? Or what thing you could do, would make you the happiest? 5. Is it in line with your values and standards? Does it benefit you and your family or community? 6. How can you incorporate that thing into your life? What do you have to do to make it happen? Answering these six questions and coming up with something that is positive for you and others, makes you and others happy and is in line with your values/standards and expectations will take you down the path to ultimate success. You can get there by other routes, but I bet that in the end, Success will still meet the qualifications in the previous paragraph. So, how do you define Success? Thanks and have an OUTSTANDING day!
