1.) Publisher's Note - 10/10/2002 Greetings Success Maniacs! Frac and I have been very busy the last month! We are preparing some new projects and materials for this website and a new one that will be launched soon. The new site is a secret for now, but it's going to be a special site for both of us and we hope to you too. It will be about our faith, how we live it and how we express it daily. If you would like to know more about it, send an email here to be added to our email list. When we launch, we will let you know. Soon, we will also have some new sections on the website. We have had some delays in getting these new sections going and for that we apologize. We are working hard at getting things ready. Hopefully, by this time next week, we will see the first trickle of new articles in the training section and perhaps another surprise or two. In the meantime I highly recommend that you check out our partner sites and others that we highly recommend. Top 3 this week...
Have fun and enjoy what you find! 2.) Power Thought - K.I.S.S. It! We've all heard of the KISS principle... Keep It Simple Stupid. Well, I don't like that. Too negative and too derogatory. I like the following a lot better: Keeping It Successfully Simple This is a much better outlook. It describes a process and an attitude that will focus you on the essentials... the priorities. See... today life has become so complex with so many demands on our time and resources that we lose focus on what matters and what is important. This leads us to getting overwhelmed. We forget to do the things that we know will help us. Instead we respond to the events that happen around us and to us. This way leads us to working on someone else's priorities and goals every time. Guaranteed. So, how do we combat this? K.I.S.S. It! One of the rules of success I learned from Jim Rohn was that Success comes from repeating simple disciplines on a daily basis. Failure comes from repeating simple errors in judgment on a daily basis. In my opinion the errors in judgment come from overworking things... making them more complicated than they need to be. The simple disciplines are nothing more than doing the little things correctly every day. What happens to your life and your business in one year if you spend 365 days doing the little things each and every day that move your business along a little bit? What if you make just a couple of calls a day? EVERY DAY? What if you talk to just one person a day? EVERY DAY? What if you picked one goal a day and worked on it for just 15 minutes? EVERY DAY? What if you read your goals and your vision when you get up and before you go to bed? EVERY DAY? These are little things. These are simple things. They don't take a lot of time. They don't even have an immediate impact on most days. Individually, they don't seem like much. Even a month's worth added up doesn't seem like much. BUT... These actions, done daily, don't ADD up. They MULTIPLY. Doing these things is easy. Did you know that not doing them is even easier? If it weren't, everyone would already be successful. So, it does take a little more effort to do these little things each day. But the effort is truly insignificant. Just the four things I listed above for instance could take less than an hour of time. Spread that out over the entire day and I bet you could fit it in and not even give up your TV time at night. The best part is that even when you do it that way, you will voluntarily give up the things that are mindless distractions like TV. You will be too excited about your life and your goals to waste time doing nothing. Doing the K.I.S.S. It! method will gain momentum and speed in your life. You may not see it for weeks or even months. You may think the results you see at first are nothing to shout over. But do it for a year like I suggest... Heck, do it for 30 days! Compare where you are then with where you are now. Then do it for another 30 days. Compare where you are then with where you are now and where you were at 30 days. Keep doing it until you see nothing good come of it, either in attitude or results. So, will you K.I.S.S. It!?
3.) Recommended Resource - The New Entrepreneurs The New Entrepreneurs website is by Rene Reid Yarnell. You may recognize the name as the fairer half of "The Yarnells" who wrote several MLM books a few years ago. Alas, the Yarnells are no longer together, but both are still active in this industry. Rene's website is based on her solo book, The New Entrepreneurs. There's lots of great stuff at the website. You can even get a couple of free chapters of Rene's book! Take a look around. We think you will like what you see. Is your mlm check shrink-wrapped? Confused? Okay is your monthly mlm check in the range of $1.34? In other words does your monthly residual check lacking a zero or zeros? Okay, Here is the solution…. Retail, retail, retail… In real estate it’s location, location, location… In mlm people do not want to listen to retailing… “It sounds like work, it sounds like my warm market will turn out into a scorched earth policy.” I hear this all the time and believed it myself for sometime. However, we are blessed in mlm with awesome products. Now, someone might say, “how do you know about my products in my mlm business”? Every mlm company just about has to have excellent products for the networking to work. In other words, to recommend and promote a product you have to say, “that is one awesome product”. Service products like long distance/local phone services do not have that advantage. However, they have other advantages. If you are in a product business (pills, potions, and lotions) you better find one major product that everyone in your warm market (people you know) will know that you sell (market). Make
sure everyone knows you are in business. For example, have a email signature
file with testimonials, wear a hat or button/pin, pass out/mail flyers
and news letters. Your warm market doesn’t have to buy from you
but you want them to be able to tell someone else about your product.
Seth Godin For example, I tell a friend of mine that Noni juice is excellent for arthritis. Now my friend knows I might be saying this so I can get a commission. After all I sold out to the company so I can receive a commission. However, if my friend tells his aunt about a product that he hears will help arthritis. She is very thankful for the info, and knows he isn’t just saying that to make a commission (since he ’s not a distributor of the company). In the pills, potion, and lotion business (products) make sure every item you sell has your contact information on it. Therefore, if one of your customers is telling one of their friends about it they can go directly to your web site or call you. I love it when a customer of mine gives an empty bottle to a friend so they can get the web address or my phone number. Over time you will build your retail business, which in turn will build your business builders as well. It’s coming in the house via the back door. The best distributors can come from being a customer. How nice it is to tell someone about the business end, and they already know about the product benefits. Also, never, push anyone to become a builder. A lot of people just want to be users. So sell them your products and you both win. As Zig Ziglar says, “help enough people get what they want and you will get what you want”. Now, that you have one major product that you market (I always listen to people’s needs and market other products; but market one main product so everyone will not forget what I sell) start by getting one additional customer every day/week/year or even decade. You set the schedule. When you get about 25 families that buy on a regular basis, you should be making approximately $500 a month. How would this help your business if everyone in your organization built a consumption army. Even if this takes you three years to build, will it be worth it? My guess is that $500 per month extra income for most families would be a great success story. Thanks
