1.) Publisher's Note - 11/02/2002 Greetings Success Maniacs! It's almost Election Day, and I can't wait! Even though I don't watch much TV outside of some ballgames depending on who is playing and a couple of sci-fi shows, I am soooooo sick of the political ads. Even the ones of candidates I support! :) We are coming up on the holiday season and of course the Christmas stuff has been up for a while now. Heck, I went looking for an extra bag of Halloween candy recently and the Christmas candy was on one side of the aisle and the Halloween stuff on the other. This brings me to the point of today's Publisher's Note... Commercialism is a bad thing folks. I don't mean commerce. Commerce is what being in MLM or in any business is about... the exchange of goods and services for cash (generally). But commercialism is about taking celebrations and turning them into an excuse to spend money on things we don't really need. I heard on the radio this week that sales of Halloween candy is expected to be $900 million! That is about $3.21 PER PERSON in the US! And think about how many people don't actually trick or treat or consume the candy! Do you realize how big a bag of candy you can get for $3.21? More than I would just hand over to my girls. Yet we send them out like robots to gather in 4, 5, 8 or 10 times that amount of candy each year from a multitude of sources. We don't just go to the local neighborhood anymore. That isn't considered safe now. So, instead we go to multiple Halloween parties, events at Church or the YMCA and who knows what else. I am convinced that we gather MORE candy for our kids than we did when we were children. Look at what Christmas has become. Instead of being the Mass of Christ (Christ-Mass), it is an excuse to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars buying gifts that are about stuff. We have shoved Christ out of it for the most part. You have to make a special effort to keep religion in the second most important Christian holiday. The same is true for the most important Christian holiday Easter. We buy tons of Easter candy, color eggs, hide and hunt them and if we are lucky we squeeze time in for Church. Look at all the holidays. Valentine's Day, Fourth of July, even Memorial Day and Labor Day. All these are secular holidays that have grown beyond their simple origins. We buy even more candy and cards on Valentine's Day and are exhorted to buy expensive jewelry for the one we love. The other holidays are probably the biggest sale days for retailers outside of the Christmas season. So, let's try to remember the core at these holidays. Let's celebrate the reason we designated these days to begin with. Let's resist the temptation to spend money blindly on what retailers have convinced us is the proper expression for our celebration. At least, let's not overdo it. OK? On to other things... Frac and I have received many requests to be kept up to date on our new faith project and for that we are grateful. Still not ready to launch but we are getting closer. The new site is a secret for now, but it's going to be a special site for both of us and we hope to you too. It will be about our faith, how we live it and how we express it daily. If you would like to know more about it, send an email here to be added to our email list. When we launch, we will let you know. In the meantime I highly recommend that you check out our partner sites and others that we highly recommend. Top 3 this week...
Have fun and enjoy what you find! 2.) Power Thought - Can't Focus on Now? Why can't we focus on what is happening now? One of the things that makes modern life so fast, so busy and so stressful is the fact that we are not in the now. We are often in the now, the past and the future all at once. I have often said that the great mass of people are not ready for their own businesses or for creating their own vision and goals, because they are rooted in the here and now. By that, I mean they are focused solely on what is happening RIGHT NOW. There is little reflection and little seeking. Life happens to them. So, how do these two statements work together? Good question! Basically, those rooted in the here and now are not just rooted, they are confined. Their thoughts, actions and words are all about what they are doing (or what is being done to them) right now. They don't plan for the future (and I don't mean having an IRA or a mutual fund) and they don't learn from the past. Those that are in the now, the past and the future all at once are the extreme opposite of the first group. Instead of being trapped in the present, they are dividing their active attention to past, present and future. Huh? They are dwelling on past actions, usually mistakes, without learning from them. They are focused on the emergencies of now that are not necessarily related to where they desire to go. They are fearful of or daydreaming (not planning for) the future that may or may not come. They are aware of all three parts of time, but are not doing anything constructive in them. Ideally, you will learn from your past experiences and correct them in the present as you work toward your future goals. That means that the past teaches you, the present is where you act and the future is what you are working toward with those actions. Your primary focus must be in the present though. You cannot spend all your time learning from your mistakes. You would never be able to correct them. And you cannot spend too much time in the future, even if it is doing valid goal-setting and planning. You have to eventually get off your butt and DO SOMETHING! You do it in the now... the present. That is where you always are. You expend all your energy now. The question is how much will spend acting now instead of worrying about the past or future without being constructive? Being constructive will mean working on YOUR goals and moving toward them. This can only be done by focusing on where you are right now and executing your plan to get to your destination. So, what are you focusing on most of the time? Tim

Stymied is a big word for myself to spell. However, I know the feeling all to well in my business. There are times that you just throw up your hands and say "I'm stymied". In sports or in anything else in life, to get un-stymied you have to go back to the basics. Therefore, let's look at seven keys to getting back on track. 1) I'm not sure about you, but I came into mlm to make money and have some fun. I mean everybody has a job and all that frustration that comes with it. Your job probably isn't fun? However, mlm can be fun, and if were stymied I know first hand were not having fun. Therefore, first goal is to start having fun again. 2) Secondly is REASONABLE goals. No more goals that are set too high. No more 300% goals (next month your goal is set at 300% higher NO MORE). If you are having trouble getting going DO NOT get more discouraged by setting your goals too high. I love to set small goals. Why, because when I reach them I'm stoked and I set another goal. Nothing is more exciting than reaching a goal. Some people I think must get more excited about setting a goal than achieving them:) 3) Retailing your way back into a profit. Build a consumption army. Now you have volume which helps you with your auto-delivery and a base to relaunch your business. Now with some volume you can start reaching your goals. Now you can start making some money. Building a residual income stream takes time and commitment. 4) In order to get excited you must be motivated. Find someone to motivate you besides yourself. This motivator can be either upline sideline or clothesline:) No matter where it comes from you just have to have it. 5) The good lord didn't make you superior to anyone or inferior to anyone. WE are all equal. So do not compare your accomplishment to anyone else. Just compare yourself to yourself and no one else. Comparing your accomplishments to someone that just turned star trek commander in six weeks will only get you depressed. 6) If you have a large selection of products to market, try to pick one main product to market. That way everyone in your warm market will not forget what you sell. Then plaster it on email signatures, mailers, and bill boards (hats/shirts). 7) Work on yourself with personal development. MLM is a personal development course. The good news is the more you work on YOU the bigger your paycheck. That's
my story and I'm sticking to it. I hope you have an excellent day. Thanks
and have an awesome day! 5.) Promotions The Right Start Pack For MLMers Fric and Frac Productions just finished the last tape of our Right Start Pack! That means it is now shipping.
