Greetings, Maniacs! Last night our nation went to war again. This time to remove a homicidal dictator who supports terror against his own people and us. Whether you agree with that position or not, I ask you to join us in praying for our military forces, our leaders and the innocents in harm's way. No rational person prefers war over peace, including I believe our military and leaders. Please pray for a quick and just end to hostilities. Now on to the business at hand! Article - 20 Minutes to Success Frac and I met last week to go over some plans and for what we would be doing at an upcoming event in Nashville. While we were talking, I had a great thought... Success can be created in only 20 minutes! Whoa! Fric... You are off the deep end again! Maybe. Maybe not. As we were talking about our upcoming faith based project, I commented that what faithful person can't take 20 minutes out of their day for prayer? Then it hit me that it's not just prayer that can be done in this time. Success can be created this way too. Whoa! Radical concept brewing here! So many people use the excuse that they don't have the time to work on their success. They are too busy. In the world of Network Marketing we often tell people that they should have 10-20 hours a week to work on their business when they get started. When you are overwhelmed, that is a LOT of time that you don't seem to have. You have just lost a person who might have been a great partner for your business. What if, instead, you explain the time requirements like this? Why not take 20 minutes a day to get started? No pressure to make radical upheavals in your life. You have to stretch yourself to be able to run a marathon or a sprint. This is how you stretch out those Success muscles. Start with 20 minutes a day and work up from there. OK. That's the concept. Pretty simple. And you are asking, "Fric, that's too slow! Won't people quit from a lack of success in the beginning?" Maybe. Maybe not. Follow the logic and see if it might work... What would happen to your life and your success if you started taking 20 minutes each day and dedicating it to your success? I am talking about activities that actually more your business or your life forward. What if you took 20 minutes for the next 30 days and did just one thing in that time? It could be making calls. It could be posting ads on free internet sites. It could be emailing your friends and family (your warm market) about product specials or other promotions. It could be taking the time to stop for a coffee at Starbucks (or where ever) to meet new people and network. Think about the incredible habit that would be created! Within 2-4 weeks, depending on your initial resistance, you will have created a permanent habit that will advance your success DAILY. In 30 days you will have spent 10 hours on your business. Doesn't sound like much does it? But wait... There's more! In the next month, add another habit of 20 minutes. Do something else for 20 minutes consistently and daily. Make sure it advances your business or your success. That's the key. Not paperwork or organizing your desk. It's got to be concrete advancement. After two months you have spent 20 hours on your business or about 5 hours a week. Now we're getting somewhere. After 3 months it's 30 hours and 7.5 hours a week. That's an hour a day. Where would your business and your Success be if you spent a solid hour a day working on it? Some of you are still saying, "Fric, that's not a lot of time at all." But is it? I think so. I think most people don't spend an hour a day doing activities that truly advance their businesses or their Success. The truly Successful in life will spend far more than this, but does the average or even slightly above average? I believe that when a person gets in this habit, they will start doing more than the 20 minutes. Once you see how easy it is to set aside the 20 minutes and to make it a habit, will you stop when your 20 minutes are up? Or will you keep going? Will you do more? You will do more because you were shown it is easier than you thought. That is one of the keys to success anywhere. Life, business, love, etc. We delude ourselves into thinking things are so hard, that we dread the activities that get us moving. Things are easier to do than we believe. Especially if we do it in 20 minute chunks each day. Finally, I bet someone is saying, "Well, most really busy people don't even have 20 minutes!" Really? Do you watch TV? Do you take smoke breaks? Do you read fiction at all? Do read the newspaper or news magazines? Do you gossip on the phone? Do you sleep late? Getting up with barely enough time to get the day started? The point is that you can easily sneak 20 minutes from activities like these. And if the times you do these are not conducive to business, then move something like doing the laundry to these times and take 20 minutes then. Swap things in your schedule to find that 20 minutes.
